Physicochemical Properties |
Pure product is colorless hygroscopiccrystal. Melting point is 80℃. Combustible. Soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, propionic acid and ethyl acetate. Slight soluble in diethyl ether. Hardly soluble in hydrocarbons. 70% aqueous solutionis colourless to pale yellow with a caramel and burnt sugar smell. |
Applications
Glycolic acid as organic synthesis raw material which are used in preparing fiber dyeing agent, stain for leather, tanning extracts, solder ingredient, varnishingredient, copper corrosion inhibitors, adhesive, petroleum deemulsifier and metal chelating agent. As one kind of alpha hydroxy acids, it is used to produce beauty products that deep clean and moisturizing efficacy on skin. Glycolic acid has better cleaning function for certain kinds of mental scale substances with low corrosivityand cost and high efficiency. They can also be used as electroplating additive and
reagents for chemical analysis.
